Late 19th century bagpipe maker in Varennes-sur-Allier (Allier); Only a few instruments bearing his name have been discovered; According to an internet source he "was declared a "bagpipe maker" from 1872 to 1882"; His father Jean-Claude Meillet (1808-1886 [?]) also manufactured bagpipes; NB¹: ➺ Cornemuse Meillet, type a, type b, and type c; NB²: Both the main stock (dated 1876) and bellows of an instrument made by Meillet, now in the Musée du Ranquet at Clermont-Ferrand, are signed Béchonnet.
