Born in Cazzaniga [NE of Bergamo], he went to live in nearby Casnigo; In 1920 he married Angela ("Angelina") Maria, daughter of Michele Guerino Maffeis; In 1930 they moved to Cene, returned to Casnigo in 1946, and emigrated in 1952 to France; A carpenter, he also played the Baghèt; When he had lost two fingers while cutting wood, and couldn’t play anymore, he kept the chanter, but gave the 2 drones of his instrument to Giacomo Ruggeri, who passed them on to his grandnephew Luciano Carminati (who didn’t play the Baghèt, though); Luigi died in Cazzaniga.
