Figus, Giuseppe
1846-1868piper (&c.) mentioned by name
Born [and lived?] in Ussana (Trexenta area, prov. Cagliari); Master of Giuseppe Sanna, he was the third generation player of his family, after his grandfather Palmerio and his father Antonio; An almost mythical player, he could change the tuning of a Kuntsertu whilst playing; Other players have tried, without success, to find out the secret of his trick; He died in Monastir (in Sardu: Muristenis); All his dances had once been written down, but none of those scores has ever been found.
Instrument: Launeddas / Launeḍḍas / Launedda [sic]
