Pejkovski, Siljan
?-?maker of bagpipes (&c.) mentioned by name
Born in Prostranje [NNE of Ohrid], he learned zurla-making from his father (Pejko Surladžiov, who is thought to be the founder of the craft in his village, and was known as a good folksinger); Having moved to Prilep, Siljan started making bagpipes; Džimrevski states [1996] that "Until today "Три појаса" (Tri pòjasa [Three belts - i.e. 3 generations]) practise the craft": Siljan himself, his sons Nikola and Petre Siljanoski, and the 2 sons of Petre: Ǵorǵi and Metodi Petreski Nikoloski Surladžioski (Taking their age in consideration (see photos), this seems, however, unlikely).
Prilep, NB¹ (other makers): ➺ Alekso Atanasov, Dime Čagorski, Vele Čumovčanec, Atanas Drajčanec, Jordan and Velko Petreski, Koce Surladžija, Velko Šutak, and Andon Trajkoski; NB²: ➺ Petre ("Pece") Atanasovski.
