original: 呼舌

➺ remark(s) below

blowing techniques combined with finger or tonguing techniques (SE Asian mouth organs)

No identical types known (yet).

Literal translation: 呼: "exhale"; 舌: "tongue"; A mixed playing technique, mentioned by Wong as one of the "Mouth techniques", stating that it is "a difficult technique to master; While breathing through the nose, the tongue should move back and forth, creating a constant air column between the reed and the mouth that will make the reed vibrate, hence producing a gentle tidal sound. The sound produced in this manner is usually not loud".
