Tiktirī

According to Mahillon the Bengali name of "A very ancient instrument called Tiktirī in Sanskrit", adding that it is "almost exclusively used by snake charmers"; NB¹: It is an enigma to me why Marcuse, who obviously cites Mahillon, doesn't refer to him as her source, which I find rather insolent; In my perception this is a sign of disrespect, and of her lack of reliability as a source (NB²: ➺ my review of Marcuse's dictionary).
