Ichi (gender unknown)

original: いち

Identical types: 26
Shō

One of the 17 pipes; NB: The fact that it produces the lowest tone of the Shō, combined with the numeral meaning of its name (1 [one, the kanji of which is "一"]), seems to imply that it is considered to be the first of all pipes, which appears to coincide with its position (first left from the Kashira) in the Fukube.

Pitch: b¹.
NB: Example(s) to be replaced with staff-notation.
