One of the 17 pipes.

Traditionally mute, it is said to be preserved in order to maintain the symmetrical shape (resembling the raised wings of a phoenix) of the instrument; NB¹: ➺ Ya;
NB²: Mrs. Naomi Sato informed me that this pipe is "nowadays [i.e. early 21st century; ws] provided with a reed (Its pitch: f²)".
NB: Example(s) to be replaced with staff-notation.
