In his »Méthode« David Escarpit explains that "the correct pronunciation is "pi-Hèt", in which the H should be clearly audible", adding that "in Gascon "lo pihet " is in fact a high-pitched “screaming” sound; NB¹: ➺ NB in remarks to Bohaussac.
