Tömlősíp (-)

(with) definite article: a
➺ remark(s) below
Duda

Encountered in written sources since the late 15th century; Podnos, who dates it 17th century, spells it erroneously, and rather ignorantly, "tömlössip" (➺ diacritics and double s);
NB: The literal translation of tömlő is "goatskin", "wine-skin", and "bag"; that of síp is "whistle", "pipe", and "fife" (as a musical instrument).
