Serre region (prov. Catanzaro), where the instrument is considered more "ancient" than the a chiave, because of the lack of the bass drone; NB¹: ➺ similar terms (NB²: Terzalora vs Terzarola: Both spellings appear to be correct, but, taking Castagna's reference to the local designation (Terzarùala) in consideration, it seems justified [to me] to adopt the latter option!).
