One of the 4 subtypes of the Surdulina, mentioned by Lavena (La Vena); According to Tucci, "a fairly large type, usually made with the use of a lathe, with parallel or non-parallel fingerholes and slightly sunken bells", played and made in Mesoraca (prov. Crotone [➺ Manca]); According to Castagna it is "one of the many local variants of the Surdulina type";
