Campana

Its rather wide inward edge leaves a comparatively small opening, thus creating a cavity that softens the sound produced; According to bagpipe makers best suited for indoor playing; Usually ordered to a piper’s need / taste; NB¹: The hypothesis that the term is related to Avezzano (a town S of L’Aquila in Abruzzo) is not very convincing; In Molise dialect "a vezzanese" (connected with the verb "vezzà, vezzare" [to spin]) means "in the shape of a wheel"; NB²: ➺ Campana (alla) campagnola & ~ a / alla vezzanese .

Made of cherry (Prunus avium).
