Zampogna di Fossalto (f)
(with) definite article: laIn Fossalto [NNW of Campobasso] the construction of the Scupina has survived the longest; There the instrument was used to accompany the May song during the ancient Spring ritual of the "Pagliara" (a person disguised as a decorated tree); The rite still exists, but after Angelo Vergalito’s demise in 1976, the people of Fossalto started, in the 1980s, to call Zampognari from Scapoli and San Polo Matese, who play, however, their customary Zampogna molisana; NB: ➺ Piva di Fossale (remarks).
