According to Podnos "cited, 1455, by Alvise Da Mosto" (1429 or 1432-1483), an Italian slave trader and explorer who was also called Cadamosto or Ca’ Da Mosto; In Veiga de Oliveira (➺ Podnos’ sources), the term doesn’t occur at all, and until now [Oct. 2020] I haven’t had access to his other source (Stevenson).
