Kalem (m)
plural: Kalemioriginal: калем, калеми
single chanter: cylindrical, straight, bell / single reed
Peštersko-Starovlaško region (SW Serbia); NB¹: In the villages Kladnica and Štavalj the plural form seems to be used for chanter and drone, but the information in Vukosavljević on this topic is rather confusing, because the meaning of Serbian "односно" (òdnosno) and its English translation ("respectively") seem to differ in "shade"; NB²: ➺ my remark (NB²) to Diplje regarding its possible use as a synonym of Kalemi.
With 5 fingerholes [No thumbhole] and 2 ventholes (гласници [glasnici]) at the base of its funnel-shaped bell; Range: f¹-g¹-a¹-b♭¹-c²-d².
NB: Example(s) to be replaced with staff-notation.
