Dudy

According to Sachs "a small bagpipe"; The name is, however, a common diminutive and originally a ruthenism, popularised in the 19th and 20th centuries in the literary language by writers of the borderland with Ukraine (Ruthenia), but it also occurs colloquially, in proverbs, &c.; NB¹: ➺ homonyms; NB²: ➺ Dudki.
