Chanter bell
sound enhancing end of a chanter
Extension (usually widening) at the lower end of a tube, added for acoustic enrichment; NB: Sometimes the term is also used for an integral conical continuation of the chanter itself (e.g. the "Pavillon", part of the Caramèl of a French Cabrette).
Often made of cow-horn, in central Europe usually with a brass enlargement; Wooden bells are often furnished with an internal resonance cavity.
