Moezelzak (m (n))
(with) definite article: de (het)Name, according to Boone (incorrectly!) "mentioned for the first time by Verschuere Reynvaan in his »Muzijkaal kunstwoordenboek« (1795) [➺ Muzelzak !!!; ws], and also mentioned in a few early 20th century idiotica of Brabant and East-Flanders. In these provinces, but mainly in the dialect of Brabant, this name is still rather commonly known in popular speech. Between 1965 and 1977 we [sic] noted this designation in prov. Antwerp (Mechelen, Pulderbos, Sint-Pieters-Lille, Veerle, and [in the Kempen region] Wechelderzande) and Flemish-Brabant (Begijnendijk, Boortmeerbeek, Hever, Kampenhout, Perk, Rotselaar, Scherpenheuvel, Testelt, and Werchter).
