Schalmei (f)
(with) definite article: desingle chanter: bore?, straight, bell? / double reed
Boone uses this term, more or less alternatingly, instead of the common Dutch (and Flemish) term melodiepijp; Unless he has a reason to do so (e.g. in order to try and avoid a repetition of one and the same term exclusively), this is odd, because the chanters of all western bagpipes are provided with double reeds, which is a feature of all shawms.
