According to Italian luthier Marco Tomassi, this instrument (which he classifies as a type of Caramusa) is originally from Corsica. His reconstruction is based on iconography and the vocal practice of the Corsican singers of the historic group "A Cumpagnia"; He named it after the municipality (WSW of Bastia), where his project to revive this lost instrument was born; NB: Oddly, the illustration in his brochure shows fingerholes in all 3 of its pipes, which would render it rather difficult to play the instrument...
