plural: Pfeifertage; (with) definite article: die
➺ remark(s) below

official gathering of a guild, or similar organisation, of musicians

No identical types known (yet).

Literally: (the) Pipers' day(s); Annual meeting(s) of the Pipers' Guild; Preferably held at "Maria's days" (e.g. Annunciation Day [Lady-Day], or the Assumption of the Virgin Maria), they usually included court sessions, during which those members who were considered to have violated the strict rules of the brotherhood were punished; A conviction could range from a fine to the temporary deprivation of the individual's instrument, and usually caused serious difficulties for the condemned persons (e.g. If the musician was unable to pay the fine on the sitting-day, which was often the case, he wasn't allowed to practise his trade until he had cleared his debt).
