Oiro (m)

(with) definite article: il [l']
(the) bag

Bagpipe, mouth-blown: 3 stocks (a: single chanter / b: 2 drones in 2 stocks)

Identical types: 16

From Casimiro Zalli, »Dizionario piemontese italiano, latino e francese«, ed. seconda, …, vol. 2 (Carmagnola, 1830); NB¹: ➺ homonym; NB²: Rather dubiously, (i.e. without providing any proof !) Mauro Gioielli (editor of Miscellanea zampognara) interprets this name as a synonym of Piva, mysteriously ignoring the fact that Zalli refers to 4 different names, including cornamusa, tibiæ infixæ utricolo [NB³: ➺ Tibia sacco sive utriculo infixa], and cornemuse.
