Surdulina (f)

(with) definite article: la
(the) ?

Bagpipe, mouth-blown: 1 stock (double chanter + 4 drones) / no additional drones

Identical types: 4
Surdulina

According to Tucci, who provides us with a detailed description (the part of which on the drones is - in my perception - rather confusing [➺ my interpretation below]), it is "very rare"; NB: ➺ homonyms & similar terms, Sardellina & Sardëllina, Serdellina, Sordelina &c., and Sourdeline and related terms.

All pipes are cylindrical, and provided with single down-cut reeds only; The 2 chanters, each of which is made in one piece, are of identical length; Each of them has 4 fingerholes, the arrangement of which is, in the majority of cases, parallel (4:4); Less common are arrangements with partially corresponding fingerholes; The left-hand chanter is wedged at the base, which allows the piper to produce a staccato effect in the accompaniment; The instrument has 1 major and 3 minor drones, 2 of which are usually "doubled"; All pipes have a cylindrical bore, and end with a flat disc or a false bell.
