From a well-known traditional Christmas carol; In the dialect of Haute-Loire the text of the first verse reads: "Lo paure pastre somelhava / Dins sa chabana tot solet, / Pendent que somelhava / N’ausiguèt un cornet, / N'ange que l'apelava / - Leva, pastarolet [sic] ! [Transl. WS (medium: Català): The poor shepherd was sleeping / all alone inside his hut. / While
he was sleeping / he played a bugle. / An angel begged him / - Stop it, shepherd boy !]; NB: According to Perre, "the instrument is, without doubt, a bagpipe", with which I disagree... NB²: ➺ similar terms.
