Tilidūda* (f)

➺ remark(s) below

NEITHER a bagpipe term, NOR related to any of the other instruments treated in this survey

Identical types: 36

Literally meaning "Large bagpipe" ("tili" is a derivative of "tūlas" [large]), it is not even the name of an instrument, but the title of a booklet of Lithuanian folk nursery rhymes ("Tilidūda" lietuviškos dainelės vaikams) and, divided, of one of those rhymes (Tili, tili duda); NB: Compare the Hungarian "homonym" (bagpipe).
