Extension piece(s) of the drone; NB: according to Farmer, the term is "the participle form of [the verb] waṣala (to unite, link, create a connection)"; According to Elsner/Jabès, Kamāl-al-Din al-Šāficī defines it, however, as "the undermost tube of an instrument with 2 pipes" [the position of which resemble the shape of an 8 (ws)].
