According to Mistral, "a term in familiar style"; It appears to occur in a poem by Jean-Baptiste Gaut ("Félibre Gaut", 1819–1891), the opening phrase of which reads as follows: »Soun tóutei de flámei cantaire, Emai juegon dóu cat-enfla«; It also occurs in an excerpt of a phrase by M. [Marius?] Bourrelly (1820–1896): »Boufo que boufaras, semblavo un cat-enfla«, and in »Emé l’ajudo dei narret cat-enfla, ouire bèn-ama del Napoulitan« by P. Vidal; [Translations (yet) uncertain].
