Born in Wark on Tyne; A piper, she was appointed, 1930, one of the 4 Vice-Presidents of the Northumbrian Pipers’ Society; The others were James Hall (Piper to the Duke), Anthony Charlton (brother of piper Hannah Mary) and Thomas William (Billy) Pigg; Unfortunately the year of Miss Gray’s birth remains unknown, because between 1890 and 1915 around 8 girls with the same name were born in Northumberland; She was still alive, however, in the late 1980s, but, having married, moved away from the area, and lost contact with piping; NB: ➺ Survey of female pipers.
