Marnoch, Elaine Christina

A leading player in the 1970s and 1980s, she played with many bands in the north-east of Scotland in both amateur and professional solo ranks; She was also a leading figure in the Officers Training Corps, and as an Officer (Cadet) she was the first lady to perform as a "Lone Piper" at the 1977 Edinburgh Military Tattoo; In 2016 she was present at the "Tatoo" to congratulate another female piper, Megan Beveridge, who was given that honour; Elaine, whose married name was Potts, died of cancer.
