Born, lived and worked in Pretara (a fraction S of municipality Isola del Gran Sasso d’Italia, Siciliana valley, prov. Teramo); Son of Domenico [1]; According to Di Silvestre he built, like his father, his own bagpipes, with rudimentary techniques and rather simple tools such as knives and hand drills; According to Giovannelli he was, in 2004, the oldest living maker of Zampogne cerquetane; Adina Di Cesare also mentions him, and his father (though failing to mention the kinship), as "makers of Zampogna cerquetana of the Siciliana valley"; Both of them are also mentioned, without details, in a survey of musical instruments collected by Roberto Leydi; NB: ➺ Domenico [2].
