[Born and lives/lived?] in San Giorgio Morgeto (prov. Reggio Calabria); In his worksop in Cernitari (a peripheral district lying on the steep sides of the northern spurs of the Aspromonte mountains) he made, until the early 1970s, Zampogne a chiave and a paru, and also Ciaramelle and recorders of excellent quality; His fame reached far beyond the borders of his village, but he was forced to cease his activity due to an eye disease that gradually took away his vision; Until the early 1980s his workshop, with its huge pedal lathe and all the other equipment, was still intact; Presently [i.e. 2005; ws] only his instruments remain, especially those jealously preserved by his son-in-law, Pasquale Raffa; A relative of Michele?; NB: ➺ Zampogna a paru, and Spuntuneddu.
