Spuntuneddu (m)

(with) definite article: u
➺ remark(s) below
Identical types: 3

Possibly related to Italian "spuntare" [to sprout (of trees, flowers, &c.)]; Castagna/Morello inform us that "Michelangelo Monteleone applied a 4th drone to his largest type of Zampogna a paru, called u spuntuneddu because of its small dimensions"; NB¹: Despite their rather enigmatic phrasing, I assume that the term refers to this small drone; NB²: ➺ Spuntuni.
