Billai, Adamo

bagpipe maker, also a piper (or vv.) (&c.), mentioned by name

Born and lived in Uta (prov. Cagliari); A self-taught player, he started when he was a child and attended to the livestock by the mountains of his village; He became a very good performer; When he was 20, he went to live in Pirri (now a district of Cagliari); Considered to be one of the best Launeddas makers of his time, he learned the craft from Giovanni Locci.
