Briguglio, Vincenzo
1912-? [>2005]piper (&c.) mentioned by name
[Born and?] lived in Cìnisi (prov. Palermo); On account of his personal initiative, he is connected with the presence of the "small" Zampogna a chiave in his town; In the early 1930s he worked in a group of professional novena players, attributed to the tradition of the "Orbi" [blind pipers], in which he played, at that time, the clarinet; As his companions gradually died, he purchased, ca.1955, through correspondence, a Zampogna a chiave from Giuseppe D’Agostino of Villa Latina (prov. Frosinone), and continued to perform the Christmas novena; In the early 1980s, when he became too old to perform the novena, he gave the instrument to his son, who had emigrated to the United States; No additional details found.
