Born (most probably in the 2nd half of the 19th century) and lived in Kamesznica [E of Istebna]; His nickname is derived from his occupation (the production of sausages); He was a well-known and talented piper; In the 1930s he played in the regional ensemble of violinist Józef Szczotka of Milówka; According to Katarzyna & Maciej Szymonowiczowie, "Czesław Węglarz (*1957), a piper of Cisiec, currently has the Gajdy of Jan Kiełbasa and this is the oldest example ever recorded"; Oddly, they also state that Jan "gave the Gajdy on which he played, to his son Michał"; NB: ➺ Ferdynand Słowik.
