"Chłopie, za twoje trudy masz łeb i dudy"

"Lad, you have your pate [head] and bagpipe for your hardships" [?]; According to Kubik a humorous statement of pay; Here the nouns "łeb" and "dudy" literally indicate food [brains and innards; compare "Gotuj mięso i dudy, ..."]; These were usually cheap, hence the quoted proverb ironically refers to the payment received.
