Mouth organ with a "rectangular" or tubular wind chest
Spelling used, in several sources, to refer (sometimes rather dubiously) to "an instrument similar to the originally Laotian type of mouth organ" that is played in other countries in the region (Southeast Asia) as well, but where they usually have their local names; Blench, who mentions it in his paragraph on Laos, adds its Lao and Thai names (ແຄນ casu quo แคน), though explicitly stating that it "can be considered the national instrument of Laos".
