Identical types: 5Pod protecting the reed; Usually with a small opening at its upper end; Used when either [1]: storing a chanter or drone (like in Bulgaria, where many pipers use 1 bag for 2 different chanters), or [2]: playing a chanter without the bag; ➺ Practise chanter.
A reed cap for storage is entirely closed (or has a narrow ventilation-hole in its top); Reed caps for playing have an open Nozzle.
