Mouth organ with a "rectangular" or tubular wind chest
Thai name of the instrument played in Northeast Thailand; According to several sources (including Sachs [➺ Ken]) it is of Lao origin; Malm oddly defines it as "a kind of ensemble [by itself] since it can play chords and melody at the same time".
