Term for the combination of the Caramèl, and a drone (Cantarèla or Rondinaïre); NB¹: ➺ my remarks to Pied (France), Pied (de musette) and Pied de chèvre (Auvergne), Pe auboé (Limousin), and Pied de chèvre (Morvan [Burgundy]); NB²: The Pied à boules seems to be the most common type used (Compare the variety of Boîtier and Tête types).
Standard sizes and tonalities (keys) mentioned in »La cabrette« are (measured in cm): 32 (E♭), 35 (D), 37,5 (C♯), 39 (C), 42 [key?], 44 [key?], 47 (A); NB³: According to Blanc, "chanters with a length deviating from the standard ([e.g.] 38, 40... [cm]) are called «pieds bâtards»" [literally: bastard feet]; NB4: ➺ Jeu(x).
