Separator

Separator (Uilleann pipes)

Wooden tube, closely fitted at its lower end in a metal cylinder; Space between its slenderer upper part, which is wedged at the top, and the cylinder enables air to reach the reed in its top; NB: ➺ Bass bar, and Cap.

The inner tube has a conical bore; The lower end of the cylinder forms the mortise for the keyed portion of the Bass regulator.
