Gracing for repetitions of d¹, which can only be played with the chanter off the knee; Executed with 2-3 different gracenotes (NB: ➺ Tripling); Various notes are possible, but common are only a¹, g¹ and f♯¹, resulting in:

a¹-d¹-g¹-d¹-f¹-d¹; A similar ornamentation is used on e¹, but cranning is not common on other notes [?; ➺ source].
