Zampogna a mezza chiave (f)

(with) definite article: la
➺ remark(s) below

Literally: "bagpipe with half a key" (Intended meaning possibly "half-size bagpipe with a key"; Compare Zampogna a chiavi’nteri); According to Leydi, "In the past larger instruments (a chiave) were used"; According to Tucci, the term is an alternative name, used by [Domenico] Cutullè of Cardinale (prov. Catanzaro) for a Zampogna № 9, [and] by [Tommaso] Marino of Mesoraca (prov. Crotone) as an alternative name for his Zampogna mezze cornette; NB¹: According to Castagna/Morello, “a synonym of Menzìatta”; NB²: ➺ Zampogna a chiavi sana, and romane.

Leydi mentions the range of both chanters combined (i.e. f ➺ c²); When separated, this reads, according to his general example (ill. 15), if interpreted correctly, as:
Left: f-g-a-b♭-c¹ / Right: e¹-f¹-g¹-a¹-b♭¹-c²; The 3 drones are pitched c¹, f¹, and c².
NB: Example(s) to be replaced with staff-notation.
