Zakpijp (f)

(with) definite article: de
plural: Zakpijpen; (with) definite article: de
(the) bag pipe(s) / flute(s)
Doedelzak

According to WNT, "In the past also called Pijpzak"; NB¹: Interestingly, one of the sources mentioned in WNT (J.H. van der Palm) states, in his »Redevoeringen, verhandelingen en losse geschriften« [Orations, discourses and loose writings] (Leeuwarden, 1854-1855) that "The Scottish bagpipe, or the music of the bear drivers, may hurt the ears with disgusting monotony, also without the harmony of polyphonic music the Solo in song or playing can captivate and delight us"; NB²: Confusingly, Boone mentions the name in his article on "bagpipes in Belgium".
