Generic term for all kinds of bagpipes, Austrian or otherwise; The documents found hitherto indicate that this name was adopted in the 17th century from the western Slavs (Czech Dudy, Polish Duda); The word Sackpfeife doesn’t occur in the popular speech of the Alpine countries.
