Dudlsack (m)

(with) definite article: der

original: Dudlʃack

Dudelsack

From Johann Valentin Neiner, »Neu Ausgelegter Curioser Tändl-Marckt der jetzigen Welt…« (Wien & Brünn [Brno], 1734); Also mentioned in Joseph von Sonnleithner, »Idioticon Austriacum: das iʃt Mundart der Oeʃterreicher« (Wien, 1824); Interestingly, the main definition in Sonnleithner's entry "Dudlʃack" reads "Eine dicke Blutwurʃt" [A fat black pudding], after which he adds, more or less casually, that "The so-called Bockspfeife, to which the "Landvolk" [rural people] dances on church days, is also called Dudlʃack"; NB: ➺ Germany.
