In an interview of 17 November 2012 the performance of traditional folk music by women is described by Zuzanna Kawulok as "extremely interesting and immensely rare"; The only known female pipers are Zuzanna Kawulok (1938-2018), Benadeta Marekwica (*1953), and Dorota Cieślar z domu Gazurek (*1978, Istebna [➺ Zuzanna Kawulok, and Blotek]), who is, confusingly, several times referred to, in Szymonowiczowie, as Dorota Gazurek-Cieślar; At the beginning of the 19th century there probably lived a gajdoszka In Istebna-Zagroń; NB: ➺ Survey of female pipers.
