Guda (-)

hide (with the hair)
Tulum / Tulūm

Tulum with the largest possible bag; Picken refers to a remark by Ahmet Adnan Saygun, who comments in one of his articles [unfortunately, Picken fails to reveal which of the three mentioned in his Bibliography] "on the need for further study in order to assess the significance (if any) of similarities between the words guda and goda and the Bulgarian gaida [sic] and Macedonian gajde"; NB¹: Interestingly, Picken refers to the similarity of "double-chanter bagpipes" like the Armenian Parakapzuk and the Georgian Gudastviri, but fails to mention the obvious connection with the latter's name...; NB²: ➺ homonyms.
