(with) definite article: de

original: Moeſeler

(the) piper
Moeselaer

Mentioned in Chr. Plantijn, »Thesavrvs Thevtonicæ lingvæ. Schat der Nederduytscher spraken…« (Antverpiæ, 1573); NB¹: According to Boone occurring since the 15th century, e.g. encountered in the 1462 town bills of Ninove (prov. East-Flanders); Kiliaan, who spells it "moeſeler", seems to consider it to be a synonym of ſack-pijper (➺ Sack-pijper) and refers to Vtricularis; NB²: ➺ Gaytero; NB³: Unfortunately, the reference to Kiliaan mentioned in WNT is inactive (yet) as a link [ws, Nov. 2021].
